There is a high voter turnout in the parliamentary and local elections in Belarus, Chairman of the Belarusian Central Election Commission Igor Karpenko said during a meeting with Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Tajikistan Bakhtiyor Khudoyorzoda in Minsk on 23 February, BelTA has learned. 

Belarus’ National Center for Marketing held a web-based meeting with the Export Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, BelTA learned from the National Center for Marketing. 

More than 6.9 million people are included in the voting lists for the 2024 elections, Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Belarus Igor Karpenko told reporters, BelTA has learned.

A delegation of the Belarusian Defense Ministry is taking part in the first meeting of the Joint Standing Commission for Cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Zimbabwe on 19-22 February, BelTA learned from the press service of the ministry.

On 18 February Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik held a meeting with President of Republika Srpska, an entity in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milorad Dodik, who is in Belarus on a visit, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Accreditation of media representatives with the Information Center of the Central Election Commission for the parliamentary and local elections to be held on the single voting day will close on 16 February, BelTA learned from the Central Election Commission of Belarus.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Yevgeny Shestakov met with Minister of Economy - Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of the Sultanate of Oman H.E. Dr. Said bin Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Saqri in Muscat on 14 February, BelTA learned from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.

As of 1 February 2024, a total of 134,703 large families have opened deposit accounts in Belarus under the family capital program, including 82,600 deposit accounts to the total amount of $826 million and 52,000 deposit accounts to the total amount of Br1.3 billion, BelTA has learned from the Belarusian Labor and Social Security Ministry’s press service. 

Belarusian universities provide training for all sectors of economy and social welfare, Belarusian Education Minister Andrei Ivanets said at the meeting held by Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko with members of the National Council of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions in Minsk on 13 February, BelTA has learned.
