Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko suggested aligning the industrial policies of Belarus, Russia and China in an interview to Chinese media, BelTA has learned.

The head of state noted that the machine-building industry holds an important place in the Belarusian economy. Therefore, the country continuously needs various component parts and mechanisms. "We engage in a serious dialogue with China on industrial policy," the president said. “Recently, Belarus and Russia have decided to pursue the common industrial policy. Would China like to consider joining it? Let's start with Belarus, and then align our efforts. I mean Russia, Belarus and China. The field of activity is big".

"The platform is good, if I may say so, promises many lucrative opportunities. Come and work. It will be useful for both you and us," Aleksandr Lukashenko added, stressing the great role of the China-Belarus Industrial Park Great Stone as a platform for tapping into the markets of many countries. "It has a really great future. We are very enthusiastic about this huge project, which is primarily economic, industrial project," the Belarusian leader stressed. Very favorable conditions have been created in the park: "Legally, no other country offers such conditions for cooperation, for work. There is no such level of benefits and preferences in any other country like we offer here in Belarus. This is very profitable for business. We are ready to improve in this regard. Although I sometimes think that there is no more room for improvement. In fact, it is a tax-free regime. Business is happy to come here."

Last year, about two dozen new companies with the declared capital of more than $80 million joined the Great Stone park. It is not just logistics and trade. These are the most high-tech companies. They manufacture products that are in demand not only in Belarus, but also in Europe, in the world. From here, you can sell goods throughout Europe, and supply products to the United States. The lines of business are many: from medicine, drug production to the automotive industry (nodes and components). They use the most advanced technologies," Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

Despite the very good current results, the goal that we declared while setting up Great Stone has yet to be achieved, the Belarusian leader noted. "But we are going in the right direction as we planned. The possibilities of this industrial park are enormous. Including in terms of output volumes," he said.

Once, Chinese President Xi Jinping called the Great Stone project the pearl of the Silk Road. This is especially true now, when China, using rail, road, air transportation, can easily deliver goods and components, its products to Great Stone via Russia.

According to the president, Belarus is trying its best to live up to the status of the "pearl of the Silk Road". "We are proud of it. It is just that I always want things to get better. I often say to Xi Jinping and your specialists who come and work there: let's do more, faster. Because the pace of life is very fast now," Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
