“The 7th St Petersburg Labor Forum will include the conference “Regulation of International Migration Processes in the CIS Member States”. Experts note that the state policy in migration in almost all countries is undergoing major changes. Mechanisms to regulate migration processes are fundamentally changing, including the legislation. In the context of widespread remote forms of employment and self-employment, it has been decided to pay special attention at the upcoming conference to issues of providing labor resources for the post-pandemic economy and reducing the staff shortage, creating new forms of organized recruitment, simplifying the provision of state services in labor migration and forming a common labor market in the CIS countries. MPs, representatives of relevant ministries and departments of CIS countries, scientists, politicians and representatives of international organizations will discuss the prospects for improving the national legislation of CIS countries in migration.

Conference participants will share their views on how to stimulate the attraction of in-demand foreign professionals, develop an infrastructure of qualification pre-immigration training, and ensure that the professions and qualifications of migrant workers meet labor market requirements. Other important topics include the use of digital information systems to accompany participants in organized labor migration, increasing labor productivity, ensuring a reasonable balance between the need for labor resources and maintaining the necessary level of security.
