Ecotourism development in Belarus reviewed in Minsk

The seventh meeting of the coordinating council of the international technical assistance project " Ecotourism development to promote green transition to inclusive and sustainable growth", which is implemented by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection in partnership with the United Nations Development Program and with the financial support of the Russian Federation, was held in an online format, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection.

The meeting chaired by the National Project Coordinator, First Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Aleksandr Korbut was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, UNDP, the Russian Embassy in Belarus, the Sport and Tourism Ministry, the Forestry Ministry and four pilot reserves of the project: Ozery, Osveysky, Naliboksky and Krasny Bor.

"The participants of the event summed up the main results of the project in the current year. They also approved the annual work plan of the project for the next year, the lists of equipment and materials purchased and transferred under the project in 2022 to the pilot reserves Ozery, Osveysky and Naliboksky and reviewed the technical needs of the pilot reserves for the development of ecotourism in 2023. In addition, the Russian side highly appreciated the work on the project and the results achieved this year. All participants of the meeting agreed to continue active interaction and cooperation on the project next year," the press service noted.
