Belarus, Russia discuss harmonization of labor and social legislation

At a joint board meeting of the Labor and Social Security Ministries of Belarus and Russia, representatives of the two countries have discussed topical issues of further cooperation, reviewed the progress and implementation of activities, the completion of which is scheduled for this year, BelTA learned from the press service of the Labor and Social Security Ministry.

The meeting was held online. Representatives of the corresponding ministries discussed the progress and current results of implementation of certain sections of the action plan for a concerted social and labor policy. The discussion touched upon the issues of employment, support of families with children, social services and social support of certain categories of citizens.

During the work on the implementation of the Union State program representatives of the ministries conducted a comparative analysis of the legislation of the two countries, revealed identical approaches and differences in the regulation of social and labor issues, identified priority and promising areas of approximation of legislation, worked on making changes to regulations, prepared proposals for further harmonization of the legal framework.

Tasks for 2023 were also defined. Representatives of Belarus and Russia will continue to work on a coordinated policy and development of common approaches to the harmonization of legislation of the Union State in labor and social security, including issues of labor relations, labor protection, social insurance and pensions.
