Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has extended greetings to the staff of the Vitebsk Oblast Hospital of Disabled Veterans of the Great Patriotic War Yurtsevo as the institution celebrates its 80th anniversary, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The head of state said that the history of the hospital began in the early years of the war, when doctors and nurses selflessly saved the lives of soldiers and raised their morale. “In this daily work without sleep or rest military medics brought the Great Victory nearer and then helped the victors to return to peaceful life and families,” the president said.

Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed that keeping up the traditions of mercy and using state-of-the-art technologies of treatment and examination, the staff of the hospital have been providing medical care to military servicemen, including veterans of various wars, throughout these years.

“I thank you for your professionalism and for choosing the high mission of saving lives and preserving the health of those who have won peace and tranquility in their native land, who stood at the origins of our independent state, who today defend the Fatherland,” the message of greetings reads.
