State support to sport organizations in Belarus prolonged through 2024

Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko signed Decree No.497 “On the amendment of the decrees of the President of the Republic of Belarus” to prolong Decree No.191 of 15 April 2013 “On providing support to the organizations of physical education and sport” through the end of 2024, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

 

Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko signed Decree No.497 “On the amendment of the decrees of the President of the Republic of Belarus” to prolong Decree No.191 of 15 April 2013 “On providing support to the organizations of physical education and sport” through the end of 2024, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The document vests the Sport and Tourism Ministry with additional functions to monitor the amount of salaries of athletes, the use of foreign donations by the federations and the direction of compensation payments from international sport organizations to hold sport events.

The decree also enshrines the obligation of clubs that receive support funds to send athletes to participate in sport events as part of national and national teams.

In order to create equal conditions for the development of sport among people with disabilities, the decree envisages support for the Belarusian Deaf Sports Federation.
