The head of state noted that independence is not only a unique value, enabling a nation to realize their dream of a bright future for their country, but also a great responsibility for achieving this goal.
“The desire of the people of Latvia to preserve their national identity and live in peace and harmony with their neighbors has for decades contributed to the strengthening of friendly relations between our countries. We have worked together and found opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation, which Belarusians appreciate and are always glad to renew,” the message reads.
The president expressed confidence that, despite attempts by some politicians to forcibly restrict Belarusian-Latvian humanitarian contacts, the two nations will be able to overcome any difficulties and preserve good-neighborly relations founded on mutual support and respect.
Aleksandr Lukashenko wished the people of Latvia happiness and prosperity and extended an invitation to visit hospitable Belarus.
