Belarus, Uzbekistan strengthen partnership in culture

A memorandum of cooperation between the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus and the Alisher Navoi Theatre of Uzbekistan was signed during a working meeting between Belarusian Culture Minister Ruslan Chernetsky and Uzbek Culture Minister Ozodbek Nazarbekov, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Culture Ministry.

The meeting took place as part of the Days of Belarusian Culture in Uzbekistan. A memorandum of cooperation and mutual understanding was also signed between the Tashkent State Theatre of Musical Comedy and the Belarusian State Philharmonic, as well as between the State Philharmonic of Uzbekistan and the G.I. Tsitovich National Academic Folk Music Choir of Belarus.

During the talks, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in culture. Ruslan Chernetsky emphasized the importance of deepening interaction in cinematography and developing exchange tours between Belarusian and Uzbek theaters.

Ozodbek Nazarbekov proposed stepping up cooperation in education. The discussion focused on expanding cooperation between relevant cultural institutions from both countries in training choreography teachers. Uzbekistan’s culture minister further suggested fostering partnership on implementing IT solutions in culture.
