The forum is organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China and the People's Government of Shanghai. The main theme of the forum is Sharing Innovation and Shaping the Future. The event will feature more than 20 thematic forums and exhibitions, which will be attended by more than 65,000 representatives of different countries.

At the meeting in the SCST the parties also considered issues related to expanding cooperation between scientific, research, educational and innovation organizations of Belarus and China, holding joint scientific and technical events.
