“In its work he CIS mission relies on the principles of political neutrality, non-interference in the electoral process, internal affairs of the state, the electoral legislation of the Republic of Belarus and also on the relevant international convention,” Nurlan Seitimov said. “Today is the first day of early voting. We were pleasantly surprised that the first person voted almost at 12.00 sharp.”
According to him, during the monitoring the CIS observers visited the regions to see the preparations for the elections. “Both here and at other polling stations, that I visited I note one similar feature - it's a high level of the preparation,” he emphasized.
The presidential election in Belarus is scheduled for 26 January 2025.
