Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has extended greetings to the participants of Belarus’ Second National Forum on Sustainable Development, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“I am glad to welcome you in Minsk at the Second National Forum on Sustainable Development. Having signed the UN Sustainable Development Agenda 2030 together with the member states of the United Nations in 2015, Belarus has undertaken the relevant commitments,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said. “For this purpose, the country has been ensuring progressive economic growth, deepening social integration, introducing new environmental initiatives over the past nine years. Thanks to the systematic work on achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, the country has been consistently ranking high in this global project.”

According to the head of state, successful implementation of the agenda is impossible without international solidarity and full-fledged partnership.

“I am confident that the forum will not only become a vivid demonstration of Belarus' progress in achieving the SDGs, but will also turn into a full-fledged dialogue platform for sharing best practices. Numerous foreign guests will appreciate the well-known hospitality of Belarusians and the beauty of our wonderful country,” the president said.

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished all the forum participants fruitful work and new successes in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
