Minsk hosts CIS ministerial consultations

The consultations on foreign policy planning of the ministries of foreign affairs of the CIS member states took place in Minsk on 18 December, BelTA learned from the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

The meeting was attended by representatives of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and the CIS Executive Committee.

The participants of the meeting spoke about the urgent tasks of foreign policy planning in their countries and the development of doctrinal and conceptual documents in national security and foreign policy. They also updated on the foreign policy priorities of the CIS member states and emphasized the usefulness of sharing such experience.

The representatives of the CIS countries stressed that the formation of a multipolar world order opens up additional opportunities for states and interstate associations for mutually beneficial and equitable international cooperation, as well as for free and progressive internal development. They emphasized the need to respect the cultural and civilizational diversity of the modern world, balance the interests of all participants in international relations, and ensure equal and indivisible security in the global and regional aspects.

The parties expressed their interest in continuing working contacts.
