On behalf of Belarusian people and himself, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent greetings to the people of Italy as the country celebrates Republic Day, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“Regardless of external circumstances, the peoples of Belarus and Italy strive for mutual understanding, respect and help. We value our friendship and try to maintain it, because, as the well-known Italian proverb says, whoever finds a friend finds a treasure,” the message of congratulations reads.

Among the things that Belarusians and Italians have in common are a reverent attitude to families and children, a sense of community, sincerity, friendliness and hospitality, the head of state noted.

“We need to preserve the achieved level of bilateral contacts. I am sure that fruitful and mutually beneficial interaction will continue, and we will accomplish much more in our cooperation in trade, tourism, and culture,” the president emphasized.

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished peace, prosperity and well-being to the people of Italy.
